INTRODUCTION: MOTORWORLD SYDNEY

Who is MotorWorld Sydney? You might ask. Well get used to hearing the name because what they have planned is going to get you excited! MotorWorld is Australia’s largest ‘drive’ experience, coming to Sydney Motorsport Park in December 2016, you’ll be able to test drive cars on the street, track and even off-road. An interactive motor show that we will proudly be helping out with come December.

DISPLAYING AT SUPERCARS: SYDNEY SUPERSPRINT

Until then they have just kicked off some marketing and in turn have started promoting at alternate events. Last weekend saw Gareth and the team from MotorWorld displaying at the Red Rooster Sydney Super-Sprint at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Our new Porsche Cayman GT4 was on display alongside a new 991 Carrera4s Targa from Tekno Performance Sydney and the experience giver, SMP’s very own Ferrari F430. Through the weekend thousands of avid car enthusiasts would have been able to get up close and personal with the three beautiful cars.

WELCOMED BY THE ROAR OF AUSTRALIAN GT

When we arrived on Saturday morning we were welcomed by the road of the Australian GT about one third of the way through their Saturday race. To see some of the newest model GT cars racing together at our local track is always a special feeling; especially when hearing the 911’s scream louder than the alternate turbocharged competitors.

THE BUZZ OF CARRERA CUP

Going through the attractions we found ourselves on the skidpan which had been set up as a Porsche Cup wonderland. Along with the Australian series there was also a Chinese series which basically have their cars waiting and ready in shipping containers to be shipped from track to track and raced across many countries! Big motorsport.

It was great to see our good friend Shane Smollen out and about, more importantly achieving greatness on the racetrack.

FIRST TIME SEEING THE ALL-NEW 86 CUP

Moving into the pits area the V8 Supercars and their entourage of big rigs took over all our attention, these huge trucks convoy around Australia escorting the championship. Was great to see some of the legends of V8 Supercars in the mix of busy pit-crews and event goers. In the mix the new Toyota 86 Cup was present, a huge field of young and upcoming drivers ready to prove their worth.
