Project Cars: 2.7 Targa Update 2

It’s nearly time for this signal orange 2.7 to head back to its loving family. A lot of time has been put into this beautiful Targa to bring it back to its former glory. What originally was going to be a light restoration turned into a more in slightly more in depth restoration, along with the engine getting a few cosmetic touches to tie it together with the fresh body and as you’ll see in the photos below, the almost final product is stunning.

So how did this project come along? Well it started with Stephen and his Living the Porsche story (read full story here). Stephen’s love for Porsche began many moons ago, and has had the pleasure of starting his love affair in a 911S and as time does he found himself in a 996 Cabriolet. As time continued as did the opportunity to get back into something air-cooled.

At a regular service for his past 996, Stephen was introduced to a signal yellow 2.7 Carrera Targa. It was love! Stephen bought the car with the plan to restore it back to its former glory. The first stage of the restoration took place and can be viewed here. Since then some dramatic changes have occurred and here it is:
