Engine Rebuild TechArt CT3 993

We recently sold Australia’s only 993 TechArt CT3. The CT3 was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1995, it was built off the Porsche 911 Carrera. The 3.6-liter six-cylinder boxer engine was modified with a belt-driven Turmat supercharger. The Porsche’s Motronic engine management system was tweaked for the extra power, which now tops out at 462hp at 6000 rpm and 408 lb-ft at 5500. Zero to 100kmph takes less than four seconds!

These cars were sold as a complete car, the CT3 features unique body parts and equipment, including upgraded suspension and brakes. TechArt replaced the driving lights with brake-cooling ducts, and the entire aero package was reworked in a wind tunnel to increase downforce. Weight was reduced by roughly 60 pounds by swapping in carbon-Kevlar doors, made by TechArt.

The time has come for the heart of this beast to be refreshed and made new; we’ve just finished taking apart the engine, constructing a clear plan of attack and ordering in the parts! We will keep you in the spin as we start to piece together this German beast:
