"The weekend was a great success, and I think everyone had a great time. It was really nice to see see people out there enjoying such a variety of cars, and even better to see father and daughter pairs, family groups and friends out there enjoying them together. I'm already looking forward to the next tour!" - Grant Geelan
When we met up at the Autohaus Hamilton garage early on Saturday the 3rd of August, past experience told us that the Autohaus Hamilton Tour of the Blue Mountains and Southern Highlands would be a brilliant weekend.
And with a fresh crew, new roads to explore and a pack of Porsches to enjoy, it was even better than expected.
"I'd like to thank thank David, Grant and Robert for organising last weekend so successfully. And also to thank all the people who came along and took part and helped make it so enjoyable.
It was a great opportunity for me to get to know the Boxster and I certainly learnt a lot about it over the weekend."
Through Windsor, Bells Line of Road, the Blue Mountains, Historic Goulburn, where we stopped for Saturday night, and back again through the Southern Highlands, the escarpment, the Sea Cliff Bridge and the Royal National Park, the weekend was a joy and a great success.
The company was, as always, most excellent. We were joined by a fun, friendly and diverse group of people who created a warm and friendly atmosphere for all and had us looking forward to every rest stop and especially dinner and drinks at the world-famous Trappers on Saturday night.
"A big thanks for a great weekend! Saw some countryside that I never knew existed, and got to meet some wonderful people with some very nice machines. And thanks everybody for making my daughter feel welcome. She said to me last night (unprompted) that it was one of the best experiences of her life."
The sight of so many Porsches lapping up the open road is always something to savour, and this weekend was no exception. We had plenty of Boxsters and 911s along for the drive, and even some rarer cars like a stunning little 914, and a very clean early 911 with a mighty 993 motor in the back.
We'd like to thank David from Driving Adventures for putting together an excellent Tour of the Blue Mountains and Southern Highlands, along with all of our friends who joined in on the fun and adventure!
If you're already itching to get back on the open road, you won't have long to wait because we've already organised our next driving adventure - the Autohaus Hamilton Tour of the Snowy Mountains, which will run this 2nd, 3rd and 4th of November. To secure your place early, RSVP to service@autohaushamilton.com.au or call (02) 9905 1455.
