We are Sydney's leading Porsche specialist, with over 50 years of enjoying Porsche. We are also known as being Porsche enthusiasts. Over the years I have often hears people talking about "this model of Porsche was the last really special one" and that "they don't make them like that anymore!!"
Everyone has an opinion in the World of Porsche; but, for may the 997 really was a high point in Porsche's history. They were still a wholly owned private Company ( the most profitable car manufacture in the world at that time ), who built cars they way "they" wanted to. It wasn't until just after this particular car was built that Porsche A.G became part of a much larger Automotive group and became influenced in the cars they made.
The 2nd generation of 997's were better than the first. They kept everything that people loved and gave the car a significant helping of technology. PDK transmission appeared for the first time in a Porsche road car ( they had been using it to win Le Mans since 1983 ) so now a 7 speed twin clutch system was faster than the manual and a dream to drive in heavy traffic. Touch screen Navigation and Bluetooth became available, Direct Fuel Injection not only transformed the performance and emissions, but did away with any IMS issues that had haunted previous cars. Finally the All-wheel drive system was employed in the 911 Turbo ( using intelligent computers to predict where drive might be needed in adverse conditions, or where a driver may have overestimated his or her driving ability!! ) was put on the Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S cars for the first time.
So not only did the C4S get a "Fat" or Turbo body ( loving the wide rear, with that red reflector that goes all the way across ) but it got Supercar performance and an insane level of traction. Only drivers of have pushed the car past their limits or had the experience of driving on ice will understand. If you drive the car normally, then you would be completely unaware of any drive through the front wheels! A brilliant and non-invasive system.

If it hadn't been for the Global Financial Crisis, that accompanied the launch of theses 997.2 cars, Porsche Cars Australia were going to have a brilliant time. Unfortunately the GFC crippled sports car sales in Australia, so there were very few brought in; which makes them rare and potentially very collectible.

This car delivered by Porsche Centre Parramatta and has fully serviced by them and Autohaus since. Meteor Grey metallic with Black. All the good option boxes got ticked too! 19 Carrera II wheels, Carbon fiber hand brake and gear lever, Sport Plus, with launch assist!
