Delivered by Porsche Centre Melbourne in May 2010 as an all 997 Generation 2 Carrera and finished in Meteor Grey metallic with Black interior.
The 997.2 in appearance at least looks like a mild facelift for the 997 version 911 which had already proven to be extremely popular. But it was far more than just cosmetics. Major changes had taken place under the skin, firstly there was an all-new MA10 series engine with direct fuel injection and no troublesome IMS bearing arrangement to make owners anxious.
Also for the MY10 was the long awaited introduction of Porsches superb PDK gearbox which suddenly meant the automatic gearbox equipped cars were now quicker to 100 kmph than the manual versions. With this latest technology it made the car very easy to live with in heavy traffic but still extremely engaging when the you were able to get stuck into it and shift yourself in manual mode. Technology was also upgraded, the PCM head unit now had touch screen and Bluetooth for phone and music along with navigation.
It also has Black Carrera S wheels, Sports multi-function steering wheel , xenon lights and BOSE sound. The car is in lovely condition, paint, panel and the interior are superb.
In this 3.6 spec, the engine now produced 325 bhp, coupled with PDK 7 speed transmission, Sport Chrono package and for the first time Launch Assist the 100kph is less than 5 seconds away!

The modern day cab is whisper quiet, doesn't leak and has a demisted glass rear window. They are just superb.

If it hadn't been for the GFC, then Porsche would have sold a huge number of these, but as we know the GFC slowed the sales making this 2nd generation of 997 very rare and increasingly collectable.
