Common Problem: Cayenne, Stereo Lost Sound

Cayenne’s are the workhorse of the Porsche family. The people mover, sports SUV or large road eating beast designed by Porsche for customers who need the space, have terrain to get past or just enjoy a large luxury 4WD. In any case, the stereo and music is a must have feature in any Cayenne and when the music stops, what can you do?



It’s a common problem from Cayenne’s to have minor faults with their factory stereo. These faults will be brought to your attention through the on-board computers or in this case, the customers stereo ceased making sound. So what was the problem?

After checking the power supply to the head unit, speakers and amplifier all came back clear the search went deeper, this brought us into the amplifier were an open circuit was found. At this point a new factory amplifier was ordered and fitted, fixing the problem, giving warranty on the replacement part and saving many dollars or unnecessary searching.
